How Faith stays accurate
The problem
General-purpose AI models often misquote scripture: they recall a verse from memory and get words, numbers or even the book wrong, with complete confidence. In a Bible app that is worse than no answer.
What we do about it
- Faith looks the text up instead of remembering it. To quote or discuss a passage, Faith calls tools that fetch the verses from the translation you are reading, stored in our own database. It can also search the text and compare translations the same way.
- Every reference is checked. After Faith writes a reply, each scripture reference in it (for example “John 3:16”) is checked against the translation you are reading. A reference that does not exist there is removed from the reply rather than shown as if it were real.
- Devotionals and daily-call verses come from the text. The passage is read from the translation first and given to Faith, which writes in the language of that translation.
- You can always go to the source. Passages Faith mentions can be opened in the reader, in your own translation.
- You can tell us. Every reply has a Report button. Reports are reviewed, and they are kept without your identity.
What this does not do
- Checking a reference proves the reference exists in your translation. It does not prove that Faith’s explanation of the passage is right. Interpretation is where an AI, like any commentator, can be mistaken or one-sided.
- Faith is not a pastor, a counsellor or a substitute for your church community. For anything serious, in your life or your faith, talk to a person.
- On the daily call, Faith says at the start that she is an AI, and you can end the call at any time.
Our commitments
- Faith always points you back to the text and does not claim authority.
- We do not use your conversations to advertise to you. Read the privacy policy.
- When we find Faith got something wrong, we fix the cause, not just the one reply.
